Technical leader–Java/J2EE - Position # 3841

Company Profile 

Our client is the world’s leading provider of microprocessor card solutions. 

Responsibilities 

- To be a technical specialist on the projects for customer, the project manager and the development team, technically to manage complex projects.
- To manage a small development team (2-3 people) in project
- To help the Project Manager during the pre-sales phase and throughout the project
- To define & follow up with the project manager technical tasks and estimate to completion tracking
- To be involved in several development projects at the same time and/or to manage a stable pool of resources for a large project, to organize and manage code or architecture reviews
- To define and ensure the best solution architecture and design in working with development team and the functional leader (architect)
- To coordinate and lead technical problem resolution
- To guarantee the technical quality of the solution in the respect of quality, time and cost of the project
- To work and review with validation team, to work with the integration technical leader
- To manage developers in the projects to ensure that software development best practices are followed, as well as those defined in the various document plans. It mainly addresses unit tests, Build, sources control, documentation
- To manage HR area of development team (coaching, evaluation,...)
- To support the developers on technical tasks
- To monitor the actual versus Estimate to Completion

Qualifications 

- University graduate, ideally in Software, Electronics or Telecommunications is preferred
- Fluent English
- At least 5 years experience in Java Software Development
- At least 2-3 years experience as a Technical Leader
- Strong technical background, strong leadership skills
- Be able to inspire and motivate others in team spirit, positive attitude and high productivity
- Experienced with programming language Java (J2SE, J2EE/EJB3)
- Experienced with OOD and OOP and life cycle of the project
- Experienced with using Application Servers (Tomcat, Weblogic, Jboss...)
- Experienced with Unix like OS (Linux, Sun Solaris, HP UX)
- Good knowledge of databases - SQL (MS SQL, MySQL), Oracle (PL/SQL)
- Knowledge of Web technologies (HTTP, HTML, XML, JSP/Servlet, JavaScript, SOAP)
- Good analytical mind and problem solving skills
- Communicative, open-minded, friendly and a team player
- Flexibility and ability to share knowledge and to work under pressure
- Autonomous, creative, curious, pragmatic and rigorous
- Willing to travel on business abroad (occasionally)

Advantage:

- Knowledge of JUnit (unit tests) and Maven (build)
- Knowledge of Hibernate, Spring, UML, JMX, Log4J, VMware
- Knowledge of Telecom (GSM/3G network), secure SW/ PKI, Security Algorithms
