Environment test manager - Position # 3200

our client is a leading ICT international consultancy 

Responsibilities 

Our client is looking for someone with experienced Test Environment Manager, to take responsibility for managing the environments required to support a complex programme. The programme is in Credit Risk, and centres around an mission critical application, called paragon, which pulls in financial data about trading, credit limits, etc. in to a large Oracle Database. This data is then presented through various channels to Traders, Senior Execs, etc. to allow the credit risk to the Bank to be managed. As part of this programme, they want to get rid of all the re-engineer the database to provide a new cleaner front end to the system.
Technologies/Tools include Java, Ajax, Apache, Oracle DB, Subversion, DAP, Hudson, Jira.
Reporting to the Core Service Manager, responsibilities will include:
• Maintaining the environment plan and resolve resource conflicts
• Maintain an inventory of all components in the environments
• Manage the procurement and commissioning of new environments
• Capacity planning for test environments
• Monitoring the status of test environments
• Managing the resolution of problems with Test Environments
• Organising data refreshes
• Co-ordinating with other systems that interface with the Test Environments.
• Improving the installation process to make it as automated as possible

Qualifications 

Have enough technical knowledge to drive change (oracle, Java, Unix, Tuxedo, Flex, Hudson, Subversion, Jira, Weblogic).
Experience in Investment banking and a good knowledge of configuration management is desirable.
